Meet the men who have donated their time for
this worthy cause on November 26, 2004 in the Butte 66 Roadhouse
BBQ, in the old Hall of Fame (base of the mountain in the
Treasury Center).
Locals know the impact that Wilderness Opportunities
has had on the Gunnison Valley. Since its inception, Wilderness
Opportunities has provided over 1,500 service days for at-risk
and underprivileged youth through its outdoor, adventure based
courses. 7-day scholarship funded programs serve youth from
Crested Butte, Gunnison, Lake City, Montrose, and Delta. The
21-day wilderness therapy programs draw students nationwide.
A 2004 summer program student says, “This is an awesome
program that has dramatically changed my outlook on school,
work ethic, and overall.” “Thank you so much for
giving me a new beginning to a new life.”
DJ Triple L will be playing all the hits for
the your dancing pleasure. Semi-formal attire waives the entrance
fee of $25.00. There will be complementary wine and dessert
served to the first 25 to arrive. A full cash bar will also
be available.
Join Wilderness Opportunities and start Winter 2004 off with
a bang. Celebrating over five years of hard work and expansion
of the concept and programs of Wilderness Opportunities, President
and CEO David Green has taken a well-deserved sabbatical.
In his stead is Susan Mol, Program Director, and Nakca Bagn-Ellison,
Director of Marketing. Susan has been an outdoor counselor
for the organization since its inception and Nakca has helped
the company with fundraising during the last two years.
Mark your calendars: you don’t
want to miss this opportunity to get dressed up, see the
new Butte 66, dance your butt off with your neighbors,
celebrate the new season, get involved with your community,
and help local non-profit Wilderness Opportunities continue
to provide programs for at-risk youth that work. Contact
